Wolf Jahn Mandrel Headstock [WJMH_1]
Mandrel faceplate headstock suitable for use with 6 or 8mm Geneva pattern lathes with a 20mm 'D" section bed
Hard to distinguish between Lorch Schmidt and Wolf Jahn items when unmarked, but this one is stamped 'Wolf Jahn & Co. Frankfurt" as shown in one of the pictures
These mandrel headstocks are made with the faceplate integral to the headstock spindle which gives greater accuracy than demountable types
Despite being about 90 to 100 years old this headstock is in super, little used condition. The pump centre is sharp and slides freely with a light spring action
Spindle bearings are super smooth with no discernible free play. The oil lubrication holes are still fitted with their original plugs which is quite rare!
There is no history of corrosion damage and even the plating is pretty intact
